About me
For 6 years, I taught English in South Korea and traveled. I had never heard of UX.
But I knew I loved designing games and digital resources. I stuffed the school's shared drive full of presentations, printables, and templates. Little did I know, I was building a component library for my fellow teachers. My instincts told me that font, colour, layout, hierarchy of information, and interaction played a critical role in my classrooms, even though I didn't have the words for it yet. Most importantly, understanding my students' needs was crucial to their success.
Back in Canada, I wanted to keep doing what I loved—designing, empowering others, and telling compelling stories.
That's when a friend introduced me to UX. After getting certified at my alma mater, I joined Blache Yong & Co, a Montreal-based design agency. Then, drawing on my background in creative writing and literature, I earned a UX Writing certification. Now I use my combined skills to deliver thoughtful, user-centered experiences in form, function, and words.
